Have a 1991 CRX with the stock motor wanting a little more...
Ok so as i said i have a 1991 CRX with a D15B2 and I've had some troubles; rough idling, tranny, timing.... the list goes on ha
First off car has been missing out whether its hot or cold throughout the rpms so i did the basics Cap, Rotor Button, Plugs, Wires... after all that was said and done still does it so i replaced the coil.. still no change Did a compression test come to find out after only 8000 miles on a rebuild cylinders 1 an 2 compression is lower so i went thru and checked the timing and thats when the disasters happened had a friend helping me and ended up only hurting me he ended up overtightening the tensioner pulley belt and stripped it out so thats one creek im up any suggestions on what i should do about that?? I've heard heli - coil but being an aluminum block which way should i go?
Ive yet to get the motor out due to lack of the proper tools cant seem to bust the lower ball joints loose so im getting a picklefork from a friend so once its out i plan on taking the head off and seeing if i have any bent valves etc if so id like to add a little pep to it cuz its flat out a turd if u wanna go any faster then 115 it takes forever so im looking to get or do something to it or the head to give it a little more umph w/o having to change wiring or the p.o.s dual point fuel injection Ive read on some post that a mini me swap doesnt really make to much of a change anyways...but new to the honda scene id like to get a little info before i go blowing money on stuff that really isn't gonna help that much..
Thanks to anyone with some info it would be a big help

i'm a little lost you want a bit more power with out doing an mpfi or vtec head swap?
Those are about the cheapest and best bang for buck you can do and pretty easy, esp with the wealth of info we have in the FAQS.
simple I/H/E then really it won't do much but if you have to keep dual point it'll help a tiny bit.

see i really dont have to keep it dual point but im not the best with wiring an yea i am pretty tight with my money but dont want to put a swap in it just yet just something a little more for now... As the car is engine/power wise im pretty bored with it.. what could i do head an intake wise without having to know alot about wiring on these things
You could do a number of things. You could have the head milled .020" to bump the compression a couple of points. Or you could have the head ported ($$$), or you could put a cam + valve train in it. Any way you slice it you're probably going to want to do the MPFI swap first. That is the gateway to further modifications.
