87 or 88? 87's were different completely.

Well if it does in fact say D15B2 and you're not on the magic mushroom, any D-Series Cylinder head (SOHC and Produced between 88-00) will bolt on.

ok to clarify do the 88 heads have the spark plugs on top of the valve cover or are they on the side by the exhaust header if its the latter then yes my engine is an 88 d15b2

88's are on top, 87's are by the exhaust manifold.

I think you can do a D16a1 head? Go to redpepperracing because I have no idea. Maybe a 1st Gen CRX Si head with an mpfi swap?

If you wanna do the D16a1 you have to get custom mounts which are hella expensive. I think Hasport does the mount kit for either the B or Dseries but I'm not positive so don't quote me on that, but yet again, very expensive. Too expensive for a 3rd gen civic. Add on the fact that you most likely have to convert from carborator to mpfi fuel injection, not sure what model you have, and you got a pain in the ***.

I coulda sworn I read somewhere about a dohc d16a1 head swap ona sohc block, I just don't know where
