1990-93 Accord + Hondata s100
So here is the deal, it looks as if I can get a Hondata s100 for like $195 to work with my 93 accord lx. I was wondering, If anyone else here had a 1990-93 accord (manual) with hondata installed. And second is this tough to install, because I would deff want to do it myself and not go to a dealer.
195. man you might as well at least do the s200. but you know you need a hondata compatable ecu right. it pretty much only works with civic and teg ecus and 5spd at that. i was suppose to get my 91 tuned with a s200 but my tuner was having problems with his dyno.
not only that, you're going to have a tough time getting a Hondata tuned for an F series motor, you're going to have to find out the ignition timing for each column for each level of mass air pressure, then you'll have to find out how much fuel is used at each RPM/MAP, etc, etc.
Hondata is primarily used for H/B and K series motors, and with the K series they have a special K series chip which can cost up to 1500.
unless you're building a turbo, nitrous or a built NA motor, there really isn't a need for Hondata, you'll see at most 10 HP gain, maybe a few more with bolt-ons.
I have a Hondata S300, but my car is Accord on the outside and bolt-on Prelude on the inside.
Basicly when you plan on breaking 200 HP, go to the Hondata. (no, they don't make Hondata for the V6.)

The kit i found said that it will hook up to the f motor. So everything looks as it should, it is not for more hp, its for other reasons. But still this sounds like a a big hassle to get going.
I apologize if what I say was incorrect.
I haven't looked into it other than to check it on their site for compatibility.

I think the f series auto is a p06 which is not listed, I don't know for sure what the other ECU codes are for accords

they have the F series listed apperently, but I've never seen a base cal for an F series motor.
it's not extremly difficult to set up hondata, it's mostly plug and play, you just have to have an understanding how a car REALLY works before you start messing with the settings.
There are some other F series users in this forum, I'm actually shocked by that, but maybe you can get a cal from them that runs properly.
