Refugee from ITR forum checking in :)
Hey all,
I just sold my "other" Honda... ITR 98-1085... now I only have one horse to ride!
I blew up my Prelude's motor (Corey Jacob's old ride) at NASA Nationals last year. Since then, my 1993 Prelude has been sitting on jackstands. I finally went and bought a new motor (full swap) from hmotorsonline. (I might have a T2W4 for sale sometime, along with the Euro R ECU etc.) Yeah, I went for the big hog, the 00-01 Euro R H22A. Might as well get the "good" tranny and "good" IM/TB/etc while I'm at it.
I guess can't stay away from those red-top motors! Hopefully this one lasts a season or two. My ITR motor has been to absolute hell and back and still runs, a miracle in itself considering how much power it was making, with road racing... Just checked the logbook before I packed it up, it made it out to 6 race weekends in 2006 (plus racing school).
I'm trying to pick which cams to run in my new H22A. It might be JUN again, they made killer power in the last motor, or maybe some of the new Skunk ones. My JUN exhaust cam was trashed due to oil starvation, looks like... and nothing in the head really looked to be in great shape anyway. Grooves in bearings, etc.
Also, I'm going to buy some 17x8 Rota Torques for it. +35. Hope they fit.
Anyhow, ta ta for now. Next on the list is cooling (big radiator, oil cooler), a fuel cell, and maybe Accusump. I think Walt McKinney is running one of those, might be a good idea for me too considering I've already had oiling problems. Weight is a big factor for me, I'm already overweight and going to be adding weight on each of the wheels.
Later,
Chris

Welcome!
I'm a little confused with this though:<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Chris F »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">(I might have a T2W4 for sale sometime, along with the Euro R ECU etc.) Yeah, I went for the big hog, the 00-01 Euro R H22A. The T2W4 is the euroR transmission isn't it? Why would you want to get rid of it!? And also, shouldn't the "good" IM have come with the swap?

He was saying he is taking care of getting the good tranny and IM at the same time.
Sounds good, can't wait to see how she runs.

welcome , good to see coreys car is still around. he did some head work on that thing, so if the head is salvageable you might want to think about that.. It will probably be better than the Stock euro R head.

Ha! Good question. I'm 90% sure the JDM H22A from the Accord Euro R is Red. This whole "Euro" thing screws me up, how can it be JDM and Euro at the same time
The European accords (I think) had an F20 blue top motor. Similar but destroked. It's in the FAQ

It's a stock head (US) with JUN Cams and Supertech valvesprings. The Euro R head should be better, after upgrading the cams/valvesprings.
