putting motor back together...one problem

Default putting motor back together...one problem

ive finished putting my motor back together and i cant get this one clip to stay, its the green one right next to the distributer, does anyone know what that does??? and has anyone had this problem before, ive check around and theres no reason that it shouldnt but i dont know...Thanks in advance...

Green clip by the distrib... You mean a wire connection? Can you post a picture of which one your talking about? If it's the one I'm thinking of I believe it's related to the Vtak solenoid. and without it your vtak wouldn't pop.

its right under the distributer cap, also when i was looking at my tranny when i got it back it looks like they forgot to but my tranny vent cap back on... do you know if i can drive around with that off??? and would acura have them...

it looks like your VTEC Solenoid plug.

check to see if the male or female end of the plug is broken

what if that plug is broken, how big of a hassle is it to replce it??? thanks.

that green plug does not pllug into the head under the dizzy....it plugs into the green plug in front of the dizzy....

i know that, it plugs into the Green connector, thats not the issue i know where it goes it just wont plug in for somereason, it will go on but it wont clip, and ive looked and nothing is blocking it.

Sounds like it's time for Duct Tape! plug it in and hold it there, start the car up and see if you throw a CEL. There is a specific one for that plug failing (I forget which one it was)

yea i figured out its actually the oil pressure switch. But im going to go home and see if i can figure it out, is there anyway to take it out, like unscrew it to see whats really going on under there cuz its kinda hard to get my head down there to see, Thanks.

Are you sure we're thinking of the same plug? The Green plug for the VTEC solinoid oil pressure should be extremely accessable and in plain view, you should be able to (if memory serves me) get to those plugs with no problems.. Did you check and see if the snap that holds it is damaged? a zip tie / ducktape / hondabond. should fix this.
