F22B2; 97 Accord
Right now I have a 97 Accord LX (4 door) with AT, and 197k on it. The interior and exterior are rediculously clean for it being a 10 year old car. Before winter came, and I had my old job, I was buying things that would make it look better, appearance wise, and I picked up some 17'' SSR Professor SP1's with Pontenza G009's - 215/45/17.
Now, my question is, even though it's a SOHC, I know of that one guy running 9's all motor, but that's a fully built race car basically, should I invest money into this engine to get it running faster? My plans for this summer are to replace the AT trans with an H22 ( Maybe LSD ) 5 spd. and then perhaps another F22B2 engine all together, since my friends dad owns a Honda junkyard, I can get a decently low mileage engine for fairly cheap. I don't want this car to be extremely fast, as it's my daily driver and I'm just in high-school, but I REALLY would like to beat my friends 06 Mustang. I don't think that this engine responds very well to I/E, so I don't know what all I would need. I've also heard that turboing would be a better bet, since the compression ratio is already decent stock, and it's cast iron on the sleeves.
Any input would be helpful.

I'm not familiar with that engine code, but if its VTEC, you can get a nice Rocket Motorsports regrind for it through kteller.com. You can also pickup a D16Z6 or D16Y8 trans for under $200, throw in a 4.9 FD, and use the Bisimoto F2D kit. That'll also let you use the lighter D series clutch and flywheel.
