My car is a d15b7. When i pull two plugs out i'm getting lots of oil. I'm not sure if it's just the gasket under the valve cover or something worse but next time i change the plugs i'll check.

I need to do the valve gasket and i guess the main spark plug tube gaskets under there also. (is there a second set further down? would that set attribute to oil on the tip of the spark plug?)

My question is, do i want these? Are they any worse than the autozone brand? Assuming this second hand civic has had little to no maintenance before me, what all should i look into replacing? (or should i just stick with what i know is wrong?)

 

get oem parts bro....my buddy replaced his oil pan gasket with a cheap $11 gasket from autozone and next day it started leaking...he bought a oem head gasket and problem solved...point is do it right the first time, you dont want to be wasting time doing things twice...

 

on AutoZone gasket (friend cracked one in 2 weeks), on EBay.

 

Advance auto parts have good gaskets. I would use oem metal headgasket. Other than that you can buy the advance gaskets (usually felpro.)

 

goto your local dealer..and buy it there...much better quality and a name you can trust..

 

expletive that my OEM Acura B18C Exhaust Manifold gasket had a leak when I put it on. Used Felpro from Advanced for cheaper and no more exhaust leak. Advance is a good store.

 

I thought the stuff that advance/auto zone sells meets oem specifications or whatever?

Ive used seal kits from there on my b16 with never a problem anywhere.

 

AutoZone sells Felpro and ROL gaskets. They can also oder Beck/Arnley products.
