Default dc type r 4-1 header?

doing an all motor ls/v build. 12:1 cr skunk2 pro 1 cams. was about to buy a jdm type r header for 300 but found this

http://www.jhpusa.com/catalog/...=1207

is there any benefit to the dc piece...the main point is it has the 2.5 collector. i know i should go smsp/rmf/hytech etc, but i dont have the money right now...

so whats your opinion?

It's not a bad header.

You can compare the DC Raceheader 2.5" to a spoon sport or even a mugen...its a nice bang for buck header but nothing compared to a smsp etc

yeah i just heard som many storys of the dc header being the restriction. im looking for 200whp out of my motor. ive seen some people ot be able to do it without something like an rmf narrow and some do it on a jdm type r....

ill prolly just go with the dc then since it atleast has a 2.5 collector

it's not bad. but be warned it does hang low so if your car is dropped a bit be prepared for dents.

this is very true.... have the same header on my ls/v and i went over a speed bump a little too fast and now have a dent in the bottom runners...

Yes, it is probably the best "bang for the buck header" next to the hight end headers. A lot of people bang them up on lowered cars or b16a cars but I had mine on my 00 EM1 with a b16a, was only lowered 1.3" and I NEVER bumped my JDM DC 4-1 on anything ever.

The DC JDM 4-1 will out perform it typically.

with the jdm itr header you can run the upper heatshield to keep the stock look. and a fastline skidplate on the bottom to prevent dents.

buy the best header right now. With a less quality header you will buy another header shortly because you want more hp more quality

just get a megan racing type r knock off, that header is seriously a thing of the past, I wouldnt spend $300 on a header when you can spend $500-600 and make 10whp over the dc.

The difference is that the DC JDM 4-1 header has a 2.5 inch collector vs the regular (CARB legal) type R header which has a 2.25" collector (GSR has 2").

The DC JDM 4-1 has slightly larger primaries and slightly better constructed collector vs the OEM style 4-1 header.

It's a good header but how many people want or even know how to modify that header themselves without any problems...

run the DC JDM 4-1 vs the regular type r DC or OEM JDM copy...yes.

The JDM DC 4-1 is your best bet for the price range available to you until you have the money to go to a SMSP, Hytech style of header.
