Default my project car

im back again. not quite sure why my last post got locked, i put free parts on my car and alot of people complained about but whatever. new thread, new shell. ill try to keep updated as much as possible

minus the slicks

this is my latest project. quiting on my old car because the body is really fucked up and i would up with a few grand in the body alone. this is a 92 civic cx, the sheet metal is outstanding. no rust or dent at all. im going to make this my daily driver and weekend racer. right now the body is prepped for paint, im going to get it sprayed flat black and get the cage painted white. im going to use the interior out of my Si along with misc parts from Sparco, Mugen, and Skunk2. im going to get new bumpers, fenders, maybe jdm, and some Rota ???'s

for now im going to use my stock d16z6 and tranny but tune the motor/tranny up (new timing belt, water pump, gaskets, clutch/flywheel and oil change) while its out of the car and then finish piecing together my turbo kit.

scott peck took these pics. i havent been to ECP in awhile. but as far as i know John, Jeff, Larry, and all the guys at ECP are doing fine.

once the motor is in the car i make take it to get tuned on Chrome, but it'll be mostly stock except for I/H/E. so mid-low 15's maybe, im not sure because ive never raced before.

i was off all day today and very bored, so i went ahead and took the interior out of my Si. the removal went smooth except for getting the carpet over the srs box and i found a small tear in my driver seat. other than that, the interior is mint.

perfect carpet. no stains

12 cent

SRS bullshit

from the car to my room

so, here it is finally. i picked it up yesterday. funny thing is, ive been paying on the car for over three months and yesterday was the first time id ever seen it in person.
right now the car is sitting outside my friends backyard paint shop and i decided to get it sprayed the factory red.

i dont really wont to start posting any plans or ideas just yet. my plans are constantly changing so i could post my ideas right, then completly change my mind tomorrow.

finally makin some progress on my project. my friend got most of the paint done today. i have a few more body parts i need to order though. the fenders in the pictures are off my Si and have a lot of dings/dints in them some im going to order some new ones from a body shop. i still need to get the rear bumper and the hood on and get them painted. so its going to be sitting at the paint shop for about another 3 weeks. my dad and i are going to pull the drivetrain out of my old car tomorrow

straight out of the paint shop. 3 coats of milano red. he still need to wet sand and buff

the cage looks mean as hell

puttin her away for the night

No clearcoat on the paint? If not, then why would you want to wetsand and buff straight basecoat?

the guys at the store i bought the paint from told me it was a single stage paint. spray, let it dry, then wet sand and buff. not a base coat, clear coat type paint

I hope you don't plan on it lasting long or ever looking close to a base/clear setup.

If not, then lol</TD></TR></TABLE>

what do you guys recommend. what are supposed to do with a single stage paint?
