Default speed chip

I just bought a speed chip for my 92 ex accord the chip said it will produce 20hp.
Now i know this is bullshit the chip was only 8 bucks and it plugs somewhere on the motor. My quistion is..Does this chip do anything at all or does it just make my car run rich or lean???

its either what muffin said, or its the one that clips into the plug for the intake air temp
basically tells the computer that the incoming air is colder than it really is so the ecu will add more fuel.
long story short, you will run richer than before it was installed.
now whether they add HP, thats another story, all i know is that ive never seen dyno proven results from them.

I would spend the money towards real mods or save up and then put in on real mods.... this things isn't worth having in your car.
It may not be safe on the long run!

Just throw it away. It will make you run rich and mess up your engine like what they said above.

sell it to some kid on craigslist and use that money for a low fat meal. the weight you'll lose will yield more performance gains then the 'chip'
