Default Timing belt broke...Is this damage?

My timing belt broke last night. I did the manual tensioner conversion about 3 weeks ago, and I'm sure I did something wrong since this happened. I ran up to 40 in first gear and threw it into 4th. I speed up to about 50 when the motor died. When I checked to see what had happened, that's when I found the broken timing belt.

My question: I opened up the head and found what I think is damage, but I don't see what could have happened to do this.

This is a wall that I think looks good. They are both right about the rocker arms.

It looks like obvious damage...I just CAN'T see how it would happen...especially if I didn't hear anything.

Fix the pictorz

There's no way to visually tell if you bent valves with them still in the head...or even if they're out of the head for that matter

the timing belt is broken, makes it alittle hard for a comp test. leakdown will give you better answers.

Might be ok if you were not in VTEC when it broke. Time it with a new belt and check compression.

Thanks, guys. I wish the pictures were working so that you could see what I'm talking about.
