I recently replaced the thermostat in my Accord and bled it threw the bleeder and the radiator cap. Ever since, it would overheat after awhile of driving when i come to a stop. I tried rebleeding the system and eliminating air out of the system. It never did this with the original thermostat either which is weird.
I understand that they have 2 different types of thermostats for this vehicle and i'm using the one with the pin on the side, since thats what came out of it before.
Any ideas? Is there a link for bleeding the coolant system to fully eliminate air from the coolant system?
EDIT: After doing some searches about this topic on here and CD7Tuner, the pin on the side of the thermostat has to be facing up? This might be my problem then...and the lower radiator hose is cool...not warm/hot like the upper radiator hose.
TIA

You could double check at a parts stote to see if you have the correct radiator cap -- like the pressure number.
Is your radiator full of coolant? All you need to do is fill it up and drive it and then let it cool down and fill it up again. That should do it.
Are your radiator hoses good? Do they maintain their shape, instead of collapsing?

Yes the little pin hole should be facing up, and the 'spring side' of the T-stat goes toward the engine not toward the radiator hose.
Was overheating the original reason for changing the T-stat?

Yes the radiator is always full when i check it. Hoses are good and maintains their shape.
No. The reason for changing was due to lack of heat. It never overheated or ran warm i should say before the new thermo was put in. I'll double check the installation tomorrow at work.
Thanks guys.

So i rechecked the thermostat...it was completly 180
so i flipped it upwards (the pin) and she still overheats...WTF?
Upper hose is still alot hotter then the lower radiator hose...could it be a clogged radiator?
Confuzzled
