VSS location on 1995 2.2vtec prelude
Hi Ya!
I have a 1995 2.2 vtec prelude its done 150,000 miles now and things are starting to go wrong....
My speedo is working but doesn't register under 10mph then when the neeedle begins to move it's about 10mph out - so I thought I'd check the speedo sensor....just need to know where I can find it.
Cheers

The VSS is driven by a small spline that runs into the gearbox.
The Sensor is located near your rear engine mount on the transmission.
You will need a 10mm socket and some long extension bars to get to it. Also, use the skinniest drive you have to get the 2 bolts off.
Believe me - its a mission to replace. Try unclipping the wires to the sensor before you remove the bolts - it will be a bit easier. The hardest bolt is the one that the bracket for the plug bolts onto.
When replacing the sensor, bolt the plug bracket down first then plug it in - it will be easier. Also pray to god you have small japanese hands / arms in order to squeeze in there. You may have to unbolt the bracket for the gear shifter cables and move it out of the way - I didnt do this but some had more success this way.
I just replaced it tonight and went for a drive! speedo works again and no CEL.
