is it a type R or integra SiR ??
both valve covers are red and the engine has b18C stamped on it, and owner claims it is a jdm integra type r motor, how would i know it is not a jdm integra sir motor? How else besides by the intake manifold, also how by the intake manifold?

Look at the head to see if it says P72 or PR3. If it still has the header heat shield, you might have to take it off because it gets in the way.
The ITR and GSR intake manifolds look very different from each other. Search for pictures.

It would help the potential buyer determine the health of the motor, but it certainly won't be useful for differentiating between the relatively minor compression ratio differences of the two motors.
