6 puck clutch
I was just wondering if a 6 puck clutch is ok to drive on the street because I like a clutch that really snaps together but I don’t want one that will kill me if I get stuck in traffic. Any input will be appreciated
It depends on the design of the clutch disk. Something with some marcel will engage more smoothly.
Sometimes it's also a bit of luck. I have a 95 Civic with a 6 puck solid hub Spec Clutch that I use for a daily driver. The clutch is fairly smooth with minimal chatter. In my track car, I use a Competition Clutch 6 puck sprung clutch. It chatters more. Both are cerametallic, BTW. The only thing I can figure is that the Spec has more marcel and the Competition Clutch is most likely flat. The damping springs shouldn't make a different in engagement quality, but there's probably a slight difference due to the damping springs being in the CC clutch, but not in the Spec clutch (although the CC clutch engages with more chatter).
Both grab very nicely, and something like this is probably overkill for a street car unless you're putting down quite a bit of power.
IMO, I prefer Competition Clutch over Spec. When I do the H22 swap in the Civic, it'll get the clutch that's in my track car, and the track car will be getting CC 4 puck sprung clutch.

this is the clutch i was looking at. I know i might get hosed because its an ebay clutch but i had one in my civic that i really liked. I love the flywheel most but the clutch that i got was at least as good as stock but now i want something for my prelude and would like more clamping force this time.

DONT get that. its ebay crap. it'll break.
Do what i did, buy parts on ebay, but make sure they're name brand. like ACT.
i got a 6 puck stage 3 clutch, 12lb flywheel, and nice pressure plate for ~$400 and its name brand.
I also use this on my daily driver. yes, its a little hard in traffic, but the grip is AWESOME. lets put it this way, i grip so hard that 1 1/2 weeks ago i actually broke a motor mount from the 1st to 2nd shift (because it grips so hard and shakes the whole front end.
