Auid A3 is a more similar comparison for this car,
but even then I'd rather be driving an A3 than a Fit.

Fit's got great mileage, but it's nowhere near as comfortable as the A3 (duh..)

If you have the money for gas and an A3/A4, get the audi.
I drive a Yaris, has the same suspension design (beams rear, mcpherson front) and it's quite a bumpy ride.
I don't know exactly how the fit feels but i'm guessing it has similar ride quality.

I dunno why anyone would want a B series in a new car, K series FTW!

...uhhh because u can re build a B motor. and make it new. + Sport Compact Car has alredy proven that the B is still better than the K.

OBD can be a hassle depending on the B though.

And better how?

K makes more power per mod with Kpro, it's really good at making a LOT of power with just bolt ons and tuning, but the B series has a stronger aftermarket support.

my g/f has a fit sport auto, i love it, its roomy and fairly quick in stock form. But I were to swap an engine into it, it would be a K20 TYPE-R, I have a built b16a in my crx and i have driven a k20 type-r powerd eg hatch, the K20 makes torque earlier which is better for daily driving compared with my b16a

Where do you live?

Backdating a motor will pretty much eliminate any possibility of it passing emissions/inspection--assuming they check under the hood where you get inspected.

agreed. there is no need to put an old engine in a new car and k-series motors drop right in , 3 companies make mounts , and 2 others like Js and HKS make turbo kits, jackson even has a supercharger kit for it

i actually wana drop the 07 Si K series in the car , very cool

plus sppon has every part of the exhaust dailed in for this car too

sorry just ranting, i love this lil car

I'm sorry, but that's complete nonsense. Honda stopped production on the B series in 2001, why back date the motor in an '07 car? I've got a list of about 50 reasons the K is better, but it's not even worth my time. The Fit was designed with the L or K series in mind. There's no reason to use old technology, and yes, the B series is old technology, developed in the mid-'80s.

it would be just as risk sensative too , to drop a B series in, you have to goto emissions every year, and explain to your local motor vehical division why you decided to but in a 7 year old motor in a year old car

i understand the need to make it faster , but sourcing a wrecked rsx somewhere would be better if not cheaper

*sigh*

agree with Buddah.....big no no is going backwards for a swap. so your pretty screwed there. best bet would be a K series. b series wouldnt mount right in any way....motor and tranny sit differently....k series isnt a piece of cake but at least the motor and tranny sit the same.

with either swap youd have to worry about the retro fit of a cable throttle system....the Fit is Drive by Wire....so theres one of many hurdles.
