Default Hands free bluetooth car kit

I just got the Motorola bluetooth (IHF1000) car kit for my 07 si sedan as a birthday present. It has the ability to sync to my bluetooth phone and lets me answer/make calls hand free. It has the ability to either use the stock speakers or power a small external speaker (provided). It also has the ability to mute the stereo while a call is in session:

Okay now for the problem

1) The Si has a downstream amp. Will this product work?

2) The stock headunit doesn't seem to have a mute/telephone wire. However I've seen the navi in action and it has the ability to mute the stereo while it gives directions. So the function must be available somewhere?!

I don't really mine using the external speaker if I have too, but I really want the automatic mute function. Any input? Anyone have a wiring diagram?

I hope you can figure out this problem.

I just use a headset in my '07 FA5.

I found this out thread here on 8thcivic http://www.8thcivic.com/forums...=3534

Look at the picture showing connector #1. Pin #5 is labled telephone and isn't used. Can this be used as a mute? I know the RX-8 stock stereo had mute but no wire in the harness and someone was able to retrofit a harness and tap a mute from it.

I installed it, using a relay to power off the radio when a phone call comes in (using external speaker for sound). It is likely there IS mute built into the stock headunit. I'll check one of these days when I have time. For a temp fix check the following thread for instuctions and details.
