Need Help with Rims
I'm looking at purchasing a set of 17 inch Racing Hart Evolution C5. I drive a 99 Civic Si (In Canada, EX In the States). I was just wondering what kind of offset I'd need. I'm not too familiar with how this all works, but any suggestions would be appreciated. I am also dropping my car 2 inches. Thank you.
Here are a few pictures of my car as well with the old rims.

Believe me, I'd love to get smaller rims. Problem is I'm so picky when it comes to choosing rims. It's taken me a very long time to find a rim that I actually like. It's got to be 17 because I do like these rims very much. Anyways, what offset would I need?

17s are way big, I took a month trying to find a nice set for me. In my opinion 17s are big and the only benefit they offer is looks. Ride comfort and performance you lose compared to 15s or 16s. It is your money though, if your looking for info on offsets try going to a site that sells rims. Put in your vehicle info and check what offsets, width, etc those rims are.
I had 17' ADR S07 rims that were a 40mm offset, on my 96 civic hatch before I went to 15's. 40mm is ideal I believe for civics, correct me if Im wrong. Hope this helps.
I have 16x7 and the offset is 38. the rims sits perfectly flush with the body of the car and I've been having no rubbing issues at all. I'm not lowered yet because it's still winter but that shouldn't affect anything.

Yes, but is your car lowered?
@ OP:
The lowering part is what might hit you up.
Are your fenders already rolled? That might be necessary. Like many of the people in here stated, i think 17's are too large, but your money, your car. Might wanna try the wheel/tire forum, they'll probably be able to give you better help.

Exactly, when I had 17's on my car with stock suspension I was fine, no rubbing or anything. But when I lowered my car It would rub the inside of the wheel well by the fender, and if I took a sharp turn it would rub the inside of the body. This and the crappy ride is why I went to 15's. But that's your call.

I really like your current wheels much better than the Evo C5s. Sorry, I'm no help for your question, just here to compliment.

Thank you. I might just put those ones back on and see how it looks dropped. I'll be out of commission for 2 months and not be able to drive my car, so I may just wait until after that to get all this done.
So around 38-42 offset. If I go with a 16 inch rim (instead of 17) and a 2 inch drop?

offset matters on rim width more then diameter. that's why I gave you my 16x7 and 38 offset. It makes the rims sit next to flush along the side of the car, I like the looks and it's awesome. I don't plan on slamming the car, just right now it look, but thanks for pointing that out Syndacate, I'll watch out for that.
