my friend is going to port his gsr head soon but needs to know the max port...i hope this is the right forum

Size is not everything. Port shape, combustion chamber shape, hell, I will just let the lackey explain in detail. Just a quick note-if the port is too big it will kill velocity and the engine won't make great power.

yep

I've seen a 10:8 to 1 ls/vtec, with Jun 3s, Skunk2 IM, and a ported head with HUGE ports put down 146whp.

Max port what? CSA? That depends on the rest of the build.

Tell him to find a 1st gen dsm head and make the ports look like those. Then hang on.

If he doesn't want to just junk his head and he's a cheap *** that will not pay someone with experience just bowl blend it and clean up the parting lines. Then he gets to play a little, brag to his buddies and not have a total piece of **** to send out when he decides that he actually wants to make some power.
