I highly doubt you will be able to get 300 whp on an SOHC CX motor. You may be able to do so by turning up the boost to ungodly levels, but if you are to attain 300 whp from that motor, it is possible that it will blow. One of the cars that I dyno'd last month was an SOHC Civic running 22 lbs. of boost with a NOS kit. The engine received massive damage on the fifth pull. I have never blown an engine on my dyno before so I would not reccomend trying to get that power from an SOHC if it is a daily driver.

Wow! Very unusual for someone to actually build the SOHC rather than scrapping it for a B series.
Definately a big
for sticking with the single cam and having fun doing your own thing!
Great numbers too!

HEY Brainiacs! Its a D16Z6 and i would not expect that engine to last but another 40-50000 miles with that setup. Sure its quick but not as a daily driver so if your're lookin for a reliable setup drop a new motor in. The drag 3 alone costed 3500 or so and everything else would be at least another 3000 excluding money for labor if he DIDNT do all of the work himself. Coulda had you a nice little B16A2 with decent mods and cams/gears/clutch probably could have touched high 13's with slicks and a lsd too. Overall i have the same engine and i want to turbo it sooooo bad but with 109000 miles on it it just isnt gonna last another 3 years like i want it to!
