my passenger side door won't open from the outside..i have a keyless alarm when i unlock the door it unlocks but doesnt open from the outside...i can open it from the inside...its just the passenger door, drivers is fine...any idea of whats wrong? anyway to fix it? can a local shop that installs alarms fix it?

 

pull the door panel and check the linkage coming from the handle, the clip is probably broken, its not a hard fix. i undid the shaved handles in my car and installed handles...so i'm pretty good at it.

The metal rod that connects to the handles is probably broken at either the inside or outside handle... I believe they connect via plastic so probably cracked or something.. Does the door unlock from the out??

Open up the door panel and look inside under the plastic sound block stuff, or whatever you want to call it... It's simple to do, I've done it a thousand times...

 

yea the door unlocks from the outside...also when i lower the passenger window it stops half way and makes a click noise...probably the rod or something preventing the window to come down..

you are prolly right.

 

if all else fails just kick it

 

i had the same problem besides the window not being able to go down. one of the pivots on my lock mechanism that the linkage goes to was rusted in place.

 

would i need to by a new linkage?
