on my stock air box i notice that the end of the tube which connects to the throttle there is somewhat that looks like a hole i checked to see if it was torn or something and found nothing, has anyone ever had this encounter? if so please explain to me what is that about? thanks

 

well i guess no one has ever encountered something like this, i wish i could post a pic to show what im talking about but i dont know how,in the stock air box its like as if there are two openings, one opening with connects to the throttlebody then its like underneath it theres another opening, im just curious as to why there is an opening underneath the near end of the tube?

 

Normally there is a wierd little plastic 'cup' right there...looks like a half of a donut The purpose of it has been debated before, some say to collect moisture, some say for sound...I have no clue.

that's for sounds, it doesn't make sense if honda put the water trapping device after the air filter

you'll see it on some other honda, it's in a deformed shape(to fit under the hood) in the similar location. try remove it and see if you get a hum from the intake

 

Thats the intake resonator. It makes it quiet. Just get an aftermarket intake.

 

I always thought that was there to collect any oil residue from the valve cover vent tube.

I wish honda had its own sort of catch can. that would rock.

 

yes thats exactly what i meant except what i just relize im missing that thing-of-ma-jig tubing that connects to the air tube which i guess a resenator or something,but thanks for clearifying that,its a good thing i got an aftermark intake with no holes lol...
