Just wondering if anyone of you guys are shooting for 8's this year since a good number of you guys were in the high-mid 9's last season, and with the up coming season. With matt Keller running 9.47, I'm assuming he will be in the low 9's this year, and with the right stuff everyone else might be pushing high 8's, but I know that's a big jump... So just wondering if anyone with a uni-body car looking to run 8's?

 

I'd like to go straight through the 8's into 7's.

Mat Keller will not be running that car this year, sorry it was a friend's car, Brian Daneli who is supposed to run it this year. Mat is supposed to be tearing it up with an InlinePro S2000 this year I do believe.

Tony Palo went 9.46@158mph though and I think he is still running this year unless the owner of the care does decide to run it himself, I had heard rumors I am sure Tony can dispell those.

Running 8's, wow that is gonna be hard, I dunno if it will happen. Maybe it will BUT damn they are pushing the cars to the edge now Also Brian Ballard has gone what 9.26 also, he is close as well.

 

the difference between a honda running 9.80's and 9.4x's is huge. Running in the 8's would just downright be monumental, however very very very difficult. These cars are starting to reach the threshold of traction as is.. Brian has a good shot, but i was pretty much just talking hondas, i dont know **** about cobalts, lol

 

in sfwd trim, i don't see it happening. With 26" tires, a possibility, and at lighter weight and 26" tires, shouldn't even be too hard...

yeah anything i mentioned would fall under SFWD catagory..

 

I have a vid from like 3 years ago of a 93 civic hb running 8.86 at 166mph in canada against a VW. Atleast I'm pretty sure it's a civic, I'm going to try and post the vid, but incase the formate is not accepted, any one want to host the vid, or post if for me if it does'nt work? 2400lbs, full exhaust, 24.5" slicks? No wheelie bars?

 

That's a Hot rod class car from Toronto Ontario Canada. a guy named Paul Bwahan owns, and drives it. I believe the time was 8.66

That answers that right there, so to the OP, Hondas are in the 7's

 

Its probably Paul Bhawan or Sergio Lisboa. is it blue or yellow. that will answer the question..

Those are HotRod cars, a lil different then what we were talkin about. Im sure many hotrodders are shooting for 8's, being that if your not running in the 8's, your prolly on the trailer 1st round

 

I'm trying to post this vid now, but the formate is not accepted on photobucket..... Yes the car had a wheelie bar, and I don't know the specs, it does look unibody, but you never know........ Just interested to see what you guys are pushing to get this year, again PM if you want the Vid sent to you........

 

I could see it happening for someone in NDRA Turbo Street trim where weight and tire size isnt an issue.

Well only one out there is Steoh Eggum who has gone 7.90s BUT at that event maybe Chuck Seitsinger beat him in his Red Hatch that has gone 8.20s
