I used aluminum spacers from lowes and longer grade 8 bolts to support the extra stress. I now have aluminum blocks im machining that i wont have to worry about flexing or breaking.
Personally, spaced hood is for cars that need to lower engine bay temps to reduce the chance of heat soak. Its becoming a fad that is really gay.
Only looks good on integras i think... cuz the angle of the hood doesnt affect the headlights in any way unlike civics.

it looks stupid and it doesnt do ANYTHING. I had a drifter guy on one forum try and REALLY give me bull **** about it massively helping airflow when hes going sideways through a drift. I about fell on the floor crying. there was one guy that really posted real world data one time that suggested it actually is worse. He also made a good point that A LE MANS CAR DOESNT USE SPACERS AND HAVE A SPACE BACK THERE AND THEY RUN FOR 24 HOURS.
