Default recall in the pipeline

Fit airbags may fire too soon after impact; guess it's better than not firing the airbag at all though. LOL

It won't be a recall, but a voluntary Airbag ECU reflash that'll take 20 minutes/car. This has been talked about at length.

I'm surprised that would be voluntary. Sure at least the airbag is still going off, but I would think people would be subject to injuries that were preventable if the airbag was corrected. I mean it is designed to be effective in a certain way, so if it is not functioning that way then it is a faulty part and you know how people are with lawsuits these days...

lol, on my FG there was some issue with the side airbag sensor... I didn't get that done.

This however, I would get done... but I just bought my car and it was made in Jan so maybe this was fixed?

I had to get a side airbag sensor replaced about 2 months ago (car was purchased in June).

And I just got my letter in the mail about the air bag ecu recall. I haven't called my dealership yet to schedule though. I should do it soon since I am past due for oil change...

the new civic airbag bulletin is about the opds sensor in the passenger seat, the wires going to it may be rubbing on a piece of metal inside the seat and sooner or later will rub through the wiring. i have done at least 20 of these, most won't ever have a problem, only a few actually looked they were rubbing. it only takes about 5 minutes to do. wrap the wire with felt and move it out of the way of the metal.

i work on cars all day long and i respect everyones vehicle. not all mechanics are douchebags. it shouldn't take all day either more like 15 minutes.

Do you feel you needed them to go off?

I'm sorry to say, but this...

Doesn't look like it needed air bag deployment.
