New daily driver
Sorry no civics or crxes....
As for the tech, my crx gets 34 miles / gallon, my new dd gets 1000, so that adds up to - MY NEW DD ROCKS!
I live in Los Angeles. Work is about 7 miles away. I've been trying to ride my bike to work, but cannot seem to do it every day. Either sore or make an excuse (I swim and run for exercise). I've always wanted to get around easily without my car.
Here is what I bought -

Bought the bike brand new in box for $665 shiped. The company lists it at $1399 and the cheapest anywhere else is $950.
The battery is still brand new and won't charge to full yet. I guess the NiMH batteries need to be charged / drained for several cycles before reaching full capacity.
I know some of you are going to say that I am just changing the source of my oil consumption. But, keep in mind that it is a bike. And I still have to pedal some. The battery / motor provides cruising assist. One site somewhere said that electric bikes get around 800 to 2000 miles per gallon.
The thing I love the most about this bike, is that it looks great! You almost cannot tell that its an electric bike.
I love my new toy / daily driver!
