Default Expert Opinion Needed (Stroking a ZC)

Alrighty, so I just picked Dohc ZC for cheap! So basically I want to turn this into a nice little project rebuild before I put the sucker in.

I've been playing with Zealautowerks' calculator in order to simulate what I'm going for but in all honesty I need someone to give it a once over and check my work.

Firstly here's what I'm trying to stuff into the bastard...

ZC Block (212mm Deck, 75.5mm Bore)
ZC Head (43.80cc Combustion Chamber)
D17 Crank (94.4mm Stroke)
Eagle ESP H-beams Rods (134.366 Length)
Endyn Roller-Wave Pistons (75.5mm, 3.09 Dome, N/A (Mid))
Cometric Head Gasket (0.03mm)

Now here's the problem, on summitracing they are measuring the rods from center to center. Is that the correct method or are they actually 137mm rods like in every other sohc 1.6 D? If so that puts me -0.086 out of the deck... Grrr. Any ideas?

All and all though working with those figures I would have a 9.75:1 ratio with a 1.42 RS and my Piston-to-Deck height would be 0.037 with a 1690cc Displacement. If I thicken the head gasket to 0.07" I could drop that baby down to 9:1 compression ratio and supercharge the bastard.

Comments?

you have the wrong rods there - 134.366mm is B16A rod - D16 rods (and D17) are all 137mm - unless you got a shorter rod, you would need a piston with compression height of around 27.5-27.8mm in order to get down to the deck or slightly below (stock DOHC ZC pistons have compression height of 29mm)

Whoops, Don't know how I missed that one. Stupid site didn't even mention what block they were for.

Well, after doing some number crunching it seems that PMS-A00 (US 01-03 GX) pistons would give the clearence I need. Hmm, I was really hoping for a nice set of Roller-waves. Maybe I get a hold of endyne and see if they can make me a set.

Haven't heard of that one yet. The only problem I foresee is that it going to be fun trying to find a timing belt to fit on this monster.

I don't think that anyone has said that they CAN'T be stroked, just that there aren't any kits readily available.

There isnt alot of clearance for a stroker crank and rods in respect to block girdle for the crank. With a stock crank and aftermarket rods you need to do some notching of the girdle and each cylinder bore would need to be notched. A stroker crank ect would be a tight fit, you cant cut too much out of the girdle since it has a oil port running through it.

D's have enough stroke, they are lacking bore...

Correction, they can be stroked no doubt, put pointless IMO, and no theres definatly not a kit.
The problem is that the rod/stroke ratio isnt really that good at all. The bore diameter simply will not allow you to run much larger than stock stroke because the rods will smack the side of cylinders towards the bottom. There are stroker kits for B-series engines because the extra 5mm diameter allows the rods to clear the sides of the cylinder.
