Of course the HT search engine will not allow two letter searches and I havn't been able to keep an eye on the board for a while.
But I was looking through the latest Honda Challenge rule book and there is no mention of HU!?! I thought it was just getting started. What happened?

 

It wasn't put back into the rule book. I am guessing that is because there was only 3 to 5 cars entered in it all year long, in all the HC regions combined.

 

There were also some classes added based on pw/wt. Under subscribed classes were combined into PT(a-g) ST(1+2) and SU.

There will be better racing with other cars with a similar potential, and it helps keep the faster cars in faster groups.

 

So now that my turbo-hatch is close to being race ready, what class am I to race in? Time-trail? Stick to HPDE's and try to beat my own lap times?

 

SCCA classes where you will run with V8s and the like.. .

Even my K20a2 95 cpe will have to run with the RWD V8 crowd in SCCA.

You will have to watch your mods and squeeze the point book tight.

Since the car count was low across the country for HU, it has been absorbed into the PTU (Performance Touring Unlimited) class.

 

PTU, I'll have to look into it. Is it a regional class, or national?

 

I just saw over in the NASA forums that someone posted about a couple new SCCA classes being opened up this year. I haven't looked into it yet.. .

One says something about 2700lb weight, 250hp supposively.. .

Depending on how much weight balast you can run, fully later year Hondas, TSXs and RSXs could run this class potentially.. . turbo or Cam those engines up and add some BALAST weight. sounds like a catchall class potentially like NASA HU

There are probably restrictions on how much balast weight you can run though.. .

 

Don, PTU is National. It's a pretty neat class, and should have a good number of entries (well, the entire PT group anyway).
