OBD I Wiring problem plz help
Ok here's the deal. I've just swapped an OBDI B18C in a hatch and it is throwing CEL code 14 (IAC) here is what Ive done so far to troubleshoot (1.) checked connections (2.) checked to see if IAC worked by giving it 12V and it did (3) checked for power at the plug on the senor and it is ok If I use a chassis ground (4) Found a problem I have no ground at the sensor.
So here is the questions that I have:
(1) Is there supposed to be a ground wire in that plug or is that some type of signal wire?
(2) That wire that I believe to be a ground wire grounds in the ECU. Would it be possible for me to run that to a chassis ground or would that screw up the signal that the ECU reads?
If this helps its in a CX and I used the CX harness and hasports CX to GSR subharness and this is one of the sensors wired in on that subharness.
Thanks in advance for any info

red/yellow - D15(OBD1 ECU)
green/white - D22(OBD1 ECU)
the ECUs D22 ground is not technically the same as the chassis ground. easiest place to tap into it is the TPS's green/white wire.

Actually I think the Green/White (ground) is A9 for the IACV, this is a switched ground on OBD1 similar to the IAB's on GSR engines. Make sure you have continuity between that Green/White to A9.

continuity is what i would check first.
continuity is what i would check first.
