Tires for my accord??? 16x7 wheels 42 offset
i just got a 94 accord and just bought some rota mf7 copies. im debating on what tire size i should run? not looking for low profile more of a jdm track look. HELP!!!
You should definitely use 205/50-16. Do NOT use 205/55-16, which is too big (2.8 percent larger diameter than stock) and is likely to rub.
Lots of good tires are available in 205/50-16.
If you need to use these tires in snow and frigid cold as well as in moderate to warm temperatures the rest of the year, then get an all-season tire. The Kumho ASX is $70/tire in 205/50-16 and is an excellent choice.
If you don't need to use these tires in snow - either because you live in an area that doesn't get snow, or because you have a separate set of wheels and winter tires for winter - then get a summer tire. The Kumho SPT is also $70/tire in 205/50-16 and is an excellent choice.

There are NO advantages with the oversized 205/55-16, and several disadvantages. There are more tires available in 205/50-16 and they won't throw off your speedometer or odometer the way the 205/55-16 will.
I don't know why vtecsi keeps mentioning the wrong size when the right size is the one to get.
Stick with 205/50-16.

I think they're giving you bad advice. 215/45-16 is significantly smaller in diameter (by 2.4 percent) than your stock size of 185/70-14, whereas 205/50-16 is only off by 0.5 percent. Also, very few tires are available in 215/45-16.
Stick with 205/50-16 for your '94 Accord.
Do the people who are telling you 215/45-16 have the same year Accord as you, or do they have Integras or '97-00 Civics? Those Integras and Civics use 215/45-16 (also 205/45-16). Some people use a tire size that is okay for their own cars, but they're too dumb to realize that different cars need different size tires.

Just IMHO the Ziex are better. I'm running the Kumho ASX right now, and just replaced the ZE-512 from wear and wish I had another set. The Kumho's seem identical in everything EXCEPT wet weather condition. I'm not the only one of this opinion either, google "Kumho ASX vs Ziex ZE-512". There just is hardly any traction on wet surfaces. These tires are both listed as all weather, but if you live in a rainy area, I would not recommend the Kumho tires. For a good dry hot summer tire, Kumho tires are great though. Snow, forget about it if there is more than an inch on the ground.... Just my opinion... Go with the Ziex ZE-512, worth the $20 more per tire...
