just wondering what kind of compression ratios have you seen h22's running.
how high can you safely run and so on.

that all depends on your altitude and what fuel you want to run.

Also do you want it to run safely for 15 seconds, 15k miles, or 150k miles?

I am considering Type S pistons pretty soon. I think they are 11.0 to 1. I guess I could search to find out though.

the highest recomened to me was 12 on pump gas that way you dont have to pull all the timing. alot of builder recomend less compression and more timing also.

use E85 if its available - then you could easily run 13:1

This thread is pointless

for a street engine, go no higher than 12.5:1, tuning and shitty gas consistency is too much a risk for more, thats all you'll need.

there are race engines taht run over 15:1

my thoughts exactly. Only thing i would add is that in order to run 12.5:1 on the street, it would need a competant tuner. One bad tank of gas could put a hurting on high compression street motors.

I'm about to assemble myy h22a bottom end with type s pistons. was thinking about getting a thinner head gasket and going for 11.5 to one butt it will depend on how thin I can go. Its good to know people are running higher cr's with out problems
