charcoal canister removal question???
I want to start cleaning up my bay and I'm preparing to do a wire tuck soon. My first question and yes I did search. The vacume lines that run to the charcoal canister how so I bi pass them Heres a pic. The three lines that connect to the black can the fire wall, the throttle body and the throttle position sensor(I think thats what it is.)

I tryed this and the car runs fine and I don't smell it running rich so is this right?
I ran the hose from the throttle position sensor to the throttle body.

thanks for any help
EDIT I left the hose that conects to the fire wall near the fuel line just hanging there do I need to put a plug in it or what?
thanks again

i vent that red tube near the wheelwell. make sure its not anywhere near the exhaust. unplug that 2 wire connector it may leak(the soliniod thing) when activated by your ecu.
probly not the best thing to do

for real to what do u connect or do with the red hose coming from the firewall cause im thinking of getting rid of that canister thing too

I just left the hose hanging there but I'm going to run a longer one into the wheel well right now.
So is the line going from the throttle position sensor to the throttle body right?

i did a search and its seems like the typical methed, there's a hole where the canister use to vent that's a good spot for that line. it looks like maybe you could put a catch can on the line.
theres tons of topics on this if you do a search for "charcoal canister" on all forums, archived
for the other hoses you could remove the bracket and everything on it, and simplify it to one hose running to each vacuum port

um i fully removed my canister its for emissions. keep it if you have emissions. i took mine out and scrapped it. the solenoid on the right when looking at the car is worthless for emissions but the one sensor on the left is the MAP sensor, make sure you keep that hooked up, so throw away the canister if you can, looks way cleaner and frees up room!! just my 2 cents
yea, run the vent (hose from the firewall) back to where it normally exits (out the bottom of the canister, into the fenderwell). just extend the hose...thats the best way to do it.
