Default 5th gen header oxygen sensor

Hi, I have a 5th gen accord that im going to be putting headers onto. There is a big metal gaurd over the stock headers right now and I believe that I need to pull the oxygen sensor on the left out before pulling off the gaurd. Does anyone know how I get that sensor out? Do I twist and pull?
Thanks

if you look to the left of the o2 senor (away from the heat shield) you will see that it is plugged in, all you gotta do is unplug it, give it a good yank. not to hard though and it will unplug and you then can take off the heat sheild.

The sensor screws in the same as a bolt would. There's a special socket for O2 sensors, which you can rent for free from AutoZone. You'll need to reinstall the O2 sensor on the new header. The big metal guard you speak of is the heat shield, which you will not be able to install with an aftermarket header.
