Polished block for me hopefully one day

Anybody have experience how they hold up to heat on a performance aspect? I have seen many hotrods and lowriders with them, but ummmm i doubt they need the performance aspect since they are manily cruisers.

I was wondering the same thing.

Theres a car in the ITR forum that has everything under the hood polished, and i have been looking for pics. I mean its ill. And it looks like its driven.

Pics prolly dont do the underhood of this 98 justice. I will try to find pics.

So does it take weeks to polish the head, block, & tranny? I'm contemplating painting mine, but I may just media blast it and keep it clean.

My buddy polished his LS block, that thing was a BITCH to maintain, you have to either drive the car VERY little or constantly polish it.

polishing just takes to long and it's way to hard to keep up...not worth it imo...

My block/head were painted by the machine shop free of charge since I got a bunch of crap done.

I like the way it looked, so I bought some of the paint from the shop, and shot the transmission before it went in.

Here's an old picture, but it's the best one I have of the engine in daylight. The most recent pictures are all in my dark garage.

Still looks like the day I put it in, too.

The way we do all our race blocks is by bead blasting them clean before the machining is done. All the grime, oxidation, discoloration is taken away and you get a totally clean surface like the pictures below.
These blocks are NOT painted, they are bead blasted and cleaned.
Painting is not bad either, but we just like getting the natural look on the blocks rather than just paint over the discoloration and the dirt.
