Using OBD 1 (1994) 6VD1 Rodeo Engine in OBD 2 (1996) Honda Passport
Hello All,
I am in dire need of help. I recently installed a 1994 engine in my 1996 Honda Passport.
Obviously I needed to convert it to OBD 2 and some exhaust fab work ahead of me because the exhaust manifolds are different.
Other than this, I have had the complete upper intake and valve covers (coil over spark plug), swapped the cam gear and timing belt cover on right side to accomodate the cam position sensor. I had the engine and parts mentioned above swapped by a shop, but took over the project after waiting a month and a half to get it to this point.
I found an issue and a few points of concern in my research.
One - The shop neglected to swap the crank position sensor over the 94 motor. Is there a different location that I can screw this sensor into the block without removing the entire top of the motor again?
Two - I read on a random post about a different Honda motor having a different gear to trigger the crank position sensor, but I am concerned now, because I obviously do not want to pull the motor again to swap out the crank position trigger gear. Can anyone tell me for sure if the gear that triggers the crank position is the same on both of these engines?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
John

That's true, but Honda services them, correct? I was hoping that someone on this site would have some experiences with the 6VD1 engine. Thanks again!
