I have an 03 Element and lately my engine light goes on right after my Element starts to act like its out of gas and hesitates everytime I get to about 3000 RMP's. Ive checked everything from the oil, fuel enjectors etc...Has anyone else had this problem..Please let me know. Id like to fix it myself cuz my warraty is already out. Thanks..

Pull the codes. The CEL is trying to tell you something.

 

vtec codes would cause the engine not to rev over 3k

 

map sensor code? TPS code? there was a recall on TBs for elements

 

Hesitates??.. Does it feel like it shifts funny and such.. There are problems with the throttle position sensor. There's also a new update for the PCM.. I'd try having the PCM updated at the dealer if you can't figure it out..

 

All I am having the exact same problem with my element. I will go to auto parts store tomorrow and see if I can get the codes off the system. Please let me know what else I can do, I too nee to fix myself if possible.

The VTC solenoid/actuators on these engine stick and cause all kind of weird driveability problems. This may what your truck needs. Or at take a look.
