how can i make itr recaros ( the ones that are black with red stitching) fit into my em1? what kind of modifcations are need?

 

i belive you need integra rails na d thats it,

they fit right in, but only 3 of the 4 holes bolt up

I wonder if it's ever occured to someone to drill a new hole for that fourth bolt..

Well, the fourth bolt if I remember right doesn't line up to anything at all. You have to make something extend to the left.

Good thinking... This may be why then.

 

swap the rails/brackets off the factory seats onto the recaros. it sucks having the 3 outta 4 holes, the seat f****ng moves up and down lol.

 

You need CTR Recaro rails/sliders. Or buy the Vision one-touch sliders from JHPusa

 

You could change pans, or do what the other guy said and spend $100-150 to make it totally painless and have custom brackets MADE to do what you're wanting to do.

There are no seat pans on Recaros.

Then what does all the hardware attach to?

He's talking about the OEM recaros.

I wouldn't call it a pan because it's wood. I know he's talking about Recaros, but you can't just swap it.

 

if you get those seats and they come with dc2/eg rails, flip the rails and get ek ones to fit your car...

No. He was saying you need EK9 Civic Type-R rails. These will bolt directly to your car AND the seats.

If you don't want to do that, you can try making your own adapters out of plate steel or aluminum to get your stock rails to bolt to the Recaro seats.

Beyond that, you will have to get custom sliders made to fit your car...

 

Here is a write-up on making your own bullet-proof seat brackets. Remember, your seat is just as important as your seat-belt. You can be killed if you get rear-ended and your seat breaks loose from the floor or it's mounts. I can't believe some people drive with only 3 of the four floor mount screws...

The whole seat bracket and real thing pushes me away from getting ctr seats for my car. Thanks for the link 94eg I might have to reconsider this.

I just bought some black recaros out a jdm itr for my ek and every bolt lined up, I was so happy lol.

 

Why not just drill a hole for the forth one and use a bolt and some washers???

i dont know maybe the guy bought rails for an ek, but whatever I got lucky.
