h22a1 shot a rod, due to oil pump failure! going jdm h22a..help
i drive a honda 93 prelude vtec. My engine is gone...dead dead! I was thinking about swapping it to a h22a jdm long block and use my same tranny. this shop is selling h22a jdm block for $900. Is this a good idea? I'm not into horsepower and all. Just want to get this car running so i can sell it. Is there any advice before i do the swapping? like special wires/harness that will need to be converted. Will the jdm h22a fit everything perfectly onto my 93 prelude frame? let me know what i need to kno before swapping. thanks
You know , they should really consider renaming this (forum) Honda Tech SEARCH ENGINE!!!!!!! Has anyone considered that some people don't frequent these (forums) and just need a little help with a problem. Yes the JDM H22 is the SAME DAMN ENGINE. But really , do you guys get points for simply telling the person to search or something????? Well, I guess I loose some points for this one. Later !!!!!!

Or you could just say.
Everything will work just just fine. All you have to do is switch over all the existing parts off your H22a1 motor and put them on your j spec motor. I would recommend you use your existing intake manifold because you already know the sensors yadda yadda area already good working order. So pretty much just switch the longblocks and ur good to go
. Goodluck.

I mean , people come here looking for help, not to be told to use the search button dumbass. I ain't tryin to start a war here . But I think 900 for a block is a little steep man. I got a friend here that has a complete H22 for the same price. Just check around first. Good luck!!!!!

The price ain't bad really, if they let you take all the extra parts to sell yourself.
And I agree I read SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH way to much in these threads. We should all try and post a link to a thread everytime we tell someone to search.
Otherwise when you run a search everytopic you find is simply going to say search as the first reply (what good does that do us?)

so the manifold of usdm are different from jdm? just tell me, is everything goning to bolt on without hassle?
yes it will.
They are just saying you should use the USDM manifold because everything will already be hooked up and you know all the sensors on it work because they worked before the engine died. it also makes it so you dont have to tear it all apart.
You're golden, dont worry
