race header smell
are the fumes pretty bad when you install a race header and lose the cat? if i was idling with my windows down after having the engine warm up (say at a stop light), would i be able to smell it?
Warming up the car w/ a race header, yes you'll smell it.
When you're on a stop light for a little bit to awhile, you won't smell it.
Race header pollutes more and you run rich, that's why it would smell.
I would know, I got one

Mine smells. Not anything nauseating though. I love it!
Keep in mind to on the 06 Si the header mounts up almost directly underneath the A/C vents so YES you're going to smell it a little when you're sitting still.

I would be careful as to how much fumes you actually "smell" many of the components that are filtered by the CAT are very dangerous to inhale in large doses. Honestly the smell is alright but have you noticed that the paint surrounding the rear bumper is just filled with brown deposit from the exhaust or is this just me? You might not notice this after a regular wash but if you wax the area its rough and your applicator gets filled with brown deposit.

Yes I know. And one of the most dangerous components of vehicle exhaust is Carbon Monoxide which you CAN'T smell. Chemistry 101
. But thanx for the heads up anyway. It's not overpowering smell.....it's just a slight odor. I usually roll with my windows cracked anyway.

No brown spots on my paint, but I have noticed that my exhaust tip is starting to turn gold.
