Default Want to make My own header..

Well guys I got a built lsvtec with a JDM 4-1 header 21/2 outlet... made decent power , but is time to get something better... since I like to work on my own car I wanna make my own header I think that instead of paying 700-1000 bucks for a good header, why not give it a try and see if I can make a header that makes more power than the one I got... I been searching but can't find anything
anything will help...

Making a header is farelly involved. You have to calculate the header lenght and diameter to make the power for your engine.

get the materials you will need and then work backwards. place the collector or merges where they are going to be and then do the primaries. dont make 4 primaries and then try to get them to all go to the same collector. go one at a time. tack everything and then go back and remove each primary from the flange and collector and finish weld it. you will get better with each one you make

Just gotta find out where to get the materials, what size, etc etc..
Will dyno my car this week then I'll dyno it again to show the results with the new header

Yea, I would buy the supplies from dave and ask him for some help in picking the right size tube and making the primaries etc the right length for your setup.

If you dont know what your doing, and cant tig weld well, Then your not going to be able to make a manifold that out performs the one you have now, ..

Im not trying to put you down, im just saying before you waste your time

the angle that collector is at will play a part to so dont just buy any random collector and run the primaries off of it. talk to burns to see if they can help you figure out a good angle

I use burns stainless collectors. They are verry good and play a big role when it comes to making power.
