anyone with LS swaps
well i got my ls powered ek hatch back in the summer. i bought it from my cousins friend that used to work at Honda down in Orlando. anyways, the CEL stays on, and the guy told me it Stays on because there is only one 02 sensor in an LS, so i cant get rid of the CEL. Is this true? i havent really paid much attention to it because to me the car ran fine, but since a CEL is on, my car wont really run full power im guessin because of the Code(s). so have any of u guys with B18b's in ur car had a CEL on all the time or on at all? thanks for the Help/Advice H-T members.
check the CEL code...it'll tell you what it is..
use this...from what i heard is that OBD2 cars have this jumper as well..

and yes...i have an LS in my EG Hatch and my CEL is on too...i get a code 41 which is the O2 censor...and yes, mine isnt hooked up..

If it's OBD-II then it has 2 O2 sensors.
LS came in both OBD-I and OBD-II motors, so it can be either.
Go to that link that the first post gave you to check your CEL codes.
If you have an OBD-II car then they can check them with a code scanner for free at pep boys or autozone or any of those places.
It sounds like the guy is bullshitting you unless he's running an OBD-II ECU with an OBD-I motor
. In that case the ECU will look for a secondary O2 sensor but there will be none.
If you have an OBD-I ECU it shouldn't look for the secondary O2 sensor so you can just leave the harness to the secondary O2 sensor unplugged.
So check the CEL, if you don't know much about cars or can't understand the directions just take it to any auto place such as autozone, advance auto, pep boys, etc. They'll read the codes for free.
Then find out what codes you're throwing.
If it's throwing a secondary O2 sensor code and it's because you're running an OBD-II LS ECU with an OBD-I system it really shouldn't matter because since you have an EK it'll still have the harness for the secondary O2 sensor and your only option is to get an OBD-I ECU.
Something's screwy.
I'd get it checked out ASAP.

well i got the codes about a month or so ago, and they were from what i remember were that i was missfiring, 02 sensor, and some other stuff. but me and my kuhzn checkd the ECU, and u were right about him bullshittin and using the wrong ECU. im runnin on a P75 not sure if its OBDI or OBDII. we checkd it maybe a month or 2 ago. so we all think its the ECU causing all of the problems. thanks for ur alls help.
Oh and i have a 95 LS motor. is that OBD1? or 2?

depends on your car...the way i usually tell if its obd1 is that the dizzy would have 2 plugs, obd2 have 1...since you have an EK, i would say its OBD2 unless the previous owner did an OBD1 conversion..

yeah im pretty sure its an OBDII motor. so the P75 ECU is OBD1 if so, thats whats probably causing the CEL and other things.

oihhh noo, i was askin u if the p75 was OBD1. i meant to write it as a question because i wasnt sure myself.

well...my LS is running stock LS ECU which is a p75....and my car is OBD1...but if the P75 ECU you have plugs to your harness without a jumper, than your ecu is obd2 since your car is obd2...
so if you have obd2 p75,than the ecu is ok....just check the codes to find what it is...like others said, you gonna need 2 o2 sensors...just check the codes to find what else might cause the CEL to light up...or like syndicate said, you can go get it scanned for free at autozone, come back with the codes and check the codes on the first link i gave you..
