But on Honda's the started using R-134a in 94 and newer correct??

yes they did ... i think the also did it on some pre 94 modles ... but i know for sure that its R134a on 94 and ^

Can't remember exactly what year, but they did it whenever it became federal law not to use Freon. It was in the middle of the generation, however.

I know they started phasing in R-134a in 94 in other cars but wasn't sure when Honda started to do it.
I have a license to work on and buy R-12 but its cheaper to convert it if I go and get a pre 94 Civic
