What is better?? Helms or Chilton Manuals??
Helm's is the best for how to fix things.
Chilton's is good for the operating theory of the car like emissions etc. Not enough pics or diagrams though.
Haynes is good for the pictures and has some good trouble shooting methods for the emissions.
I know 'cause I have all 3.

I can't believe I have seen people even speaking for a Chilton in here. Look at the Helms then the Chilton manual for the same car...the Chilton is a CHOPPED down but basically reprint of the Helm's. There is alot of info exempted from Chiltons and the reason being the Chilton covers 88-95 chassis in one book....there is a Helms specifically for a 1994 (or 92, or 95...whichever you prefer) Civic though.
So for a final word to any doubters here it is......
HELMS is the BEST if your quest is to repair or understand your Honda vehicle. The dealer uses Helms, not Chilton, and not Haynes. You can use a Chilton, but if you want the best and final word you'll get a Helms. You get what you pay for.

That's a stupid way of thinking.
Even if you have it just installed on a desktop PC you can still see what torque specs are, or check the order in which they do something, or look how something is set up.
It's a great reference.
Not to mention it's also got a print feature... I say get the one for the computer.
Why? Because unlike your dumbass that paid 70 dollars or whatever the hell it was for it - for the computer it's....FREE.
.

I have it in .pdf
Just google it dude, they're all over the web for free.
Somebody gave me a site that had like, an assload of Honda manuals downloadable for free, but I'm not sure if they want their name disclosed here
.
Also, you can search ebay and get like the honda CD-Rom program that they use for $1.99.
Don't buy the book - absolute waste of money.
Oh, and btw, I wast talking about helms the whole time...forgot to mention that...

The only nice thing about having th electronic version versus the book is you can print out the pages you need, take them out with you, get them all greasy, dirty and ripped up, and you haven't destroyed your book.
Otherwise, I like the printed book. Not sure why, guess I'm just a nerd like that.

i would agree, get the .pdf file why???????????
because im the one who scanned all the thousands of pages of about 15 popular helms books for everyone to enjoy for free 2-3 years ago. so lets not make my efforts go to waste. so get it already!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and why did i?
i had a prototype book scanner and a friend at honda go lent me any books i needed.
and since nobody liked to share knowledge back then or take the time to scan these huge books, i decided i had the power to do so and took advantage of it.
all the manuals are on all the p2p networks if you can not find it hosted by any website.
and depending on why type of paper you print on. the grease will smear right off, and you can safe the paper for the next time you do that particular repair. very helpful when i did my transmission installed , reinstall and breakdown...
and yes i had them all hosted on these boards but i was uploading 4gigabites daily so i had them all take off and put on p2p networks.

Not that I'm not thankful. I am.
But I'm not sure where in the hell you're going with this.
EDIT:
It sounds like you're trying to flame me or something but you're not making an actual argument.
I'm confused as ****.

No, the haynes is a 14 dollar piece of **** that's good for cheap, fast, reference, like timing belt specs and such.
I have one, not a bad book, just not very detailed.
The helms is like 1200 pages and is detailed on every system in the car with detailed diagrams, wiring diagrams, pictures, and instructions. It's like 70 dollar or some stupid **** like that if you go out and buy it.

oh yea that reminds me on the 92-00 civic, and integra manuals i included the eletrical troubleshooting manual after the regular manual inside the .pdf
the eletrical troubleshooting goes alot more indepth into certain wiring and helps you determine what problems are.

Oh, yeah, I agree.
I wasn't trying to sound accusatory, I just couldn't understand what you were getting at, if you were agreeing or disagreeing.
No worries, I didn't mean anything by it.
