An aquaintance of a friend of mine owns a 00 Civic EX. Since I have met him, he hasn't stopped talking about how fast his SOHC VTEC (He had no clue what VTEC is, but knows he has it) car is, and how he can beat up on my friends 1.8L Eclipse. His mom is getting ready to put it in the shop for him, and is getting an FMax (Can't remember the name exactly) turbo installed. He knows NOTHING, and what I say NOTHING...I mean that I think my 11 year old niece could wipe the floor with him as far as car intelligence wise. Anyways... He doesn't know what kind of psi he's going to be running, and I doubt even knew what I was talking about when I asked "How much psi are you going to be running on that stock engine?" He's got I/E, and no head/bottom work whatsoever. What kind of times is he looking to pull with the bolt-on turbo, and would my B16a CRX be able to keep up/take him? My best time right now is 15.1 on my old 17's...but I just got my new 98 GSR 15's w/decent tires...and I'm getting my fuel pressure regulator/VAFC within the next week or so. I'm looking for 14.8 at least on the 15's, then mid 14's with the FPR/VAFC. Would I be able to take him?

This is purely a guess...but with a FMAX kit running about 7 or 8 psi, I would think he'd be in the high to mid 14's. Should be close cause the 00 EX is heavy.

you should still be able to stomp a mudhole in him, with ease at that!!

 

you guys are joking right? Fmax on a 2000 EX would see mid 14s, "taking him with ease" WILL NOT be the case. you better hope he sucks at driving, cause one slip up and that will determine the race.

 

It definatley will be determined by driver... It will be a close race IMO
