Default Project: Topaz-R

Me and some friends aquired an early 90's Topaz for $200 -- hardly runs. We decided to try and get a point across to the rice boys around town, so we are going to make this thing as ricey as we can for practically no money.

Rollin' up in the Tope.

There goes the top.

That's about it for day-1.

Later today, were going to build a wooden spoiler larger than anything you can buy on the market. Were also cutting holes in the trunk lid to have our visible 8" subwoofers. Project Topaz-R will be updated every now and then.

Any suggestions or donations for this project would be appreciated. We already have a vinyl shop donating two 40" Type-R stickers. ALso, help us decide on a spray paint color! Right now, I think we are leaning towards camo.

If you want to be truly "ricey", leave the original color of the car, but paint every thing else yellow (or some other bright color). Windshield wipers, mirrors, door trim, bumper trim, door handles, the wing, the steal wheels (then cover them w/ chrome hub caps), the grill, etc, etc.
Then cut the springs and bolt on a big shiney muffler tip.

It would be better if the car was actually quick, then you could drive around and beat other rice boys in it.

You're ruining the structural integrity of the car by chopping the roof & pillars off.
be safe when driving it.

A better project would be fixing the car so it runs properly.

Then get a turbo from a junkyard and do a cheap DIY turbo kit to spank the "ricers" in a total sleeper.

Hehe yeah its pretty unstable without the roof. Were going to stabilize it a bit ourselves. But we dont plan on driving this much, just like a couple times a month in the summer.

I like the painted molding idea and stuff. im thinkin gray camo with like yellow molding and bumpers and stuff.

I'm thinking tail/headlight conversion. Maybe Astro van headlights, and Yugo tails, or something to that effect.

This is truly the funniest thing I've seen all day. When you get around to the exhaust... straight pipe with Folger's can welded to the piping as a huge 6" tip... just be sure to get a can that has the Folger's logo painted on it and NOT on a sticker so it will last. How about a set of sidemarkers on the hood instead of washer squirter lights? Definatly cut the springs... or hell, take them out. You said you don't plan on driving it alot, right? hehe

PS- Keep us posted with pics.

lightup windshield nozzles, exhaust tip with led, neon everywhere. Huuuuge decals covering everything...might be funny if decals were covering the entire front wind shield too. hehe

Cut out some 8" pipes and weld them onto the exhaust tip.... don't forget to have crazy chinese/japanese character decals too. If you cant afford them, heck, just write them on with spraypaint.

EDIT: take off hudcaps so you can get the black spoon rim look.

cut the springs to give it a drop.
use electric tape for eyebrows.
spray paint the inside parts, like door handles, air vents etc....with the same obnoxious color.

Hey all... first time on here, but i'm the goofy lookin olf thats swingin the hammer...

Today's update, Hubcaps are all removed right now, subs are mounted in the deck lid with a fresh coat of gold spray paint in them. The "super-wing" is completed, pending paint and mounting.

As for the structural integrity, man its gone... hehe, but we are going to be tieing in the to middle door posts again to regain some of that. As far as exhaust goes, i think we're gonna pass on the straight pipe, due to the legality reasons and the fact that two of us have some court issues we need to clear up from Johnny Law. But instead are planning some holes in the muffler with a Folders tip on it.

Any more tips??? Please add 'em, and if we use 'em, we'll try and give ya props then...maybe
