Water cooled torch ??s
IS it possible to replace the power cable part of a water cooled torch?
I have an older unknown brand torch that came w/ my uber tig from 1963 and it gets toasty warm when welding even with moderate amps and water. I'm starting to think the cable is corroded or shot. Or am I wrong and toasty warm cables normal?

Check to see if your pump is working. If the cable was shot that would most likely mean it had a hole. If that was the case, you would be squirting water out of that hole. Sounds to me as if your pump isn't working or you are out of water (if not a direct hook up)
Yes you can replace the power cable/hose assembly on most troches. If your torch is that old then it would be in your best interest to change it out for a new one. You can buy a new 25' hw20 torch assembly all new from indiana oxygen supply for $128 and free shipping the power cable is going to cost you the bulk of that especially if you go to your local welding supply. HW20 torch is a great size for all around work. Very small head with a 250 amp rating and you can also get a 320 amp rated torch but they are significantly more $ I have 2 of each. They only thing you may need is the power block which adapts the torch to the water and also the power lug if yours is different.
