It not all about the bike, as you can tell from the pics. It about the bike and rack on my car.

You advertised your thread about a Columbia Trailhead Sport, dood. Nothing was said about a bike rack or the car, which, by the way, is pretty clean.

Roof racks > Trunk Racks
I have worked at a bike shop for years and a properly installed trunk rack isn't that bad but you definitely have to be careful of the bike or the rack itself scratching or dinging the car.
Other than that have fun with the new bike.

True, but i didnt want to spend as much one the rack as I did on the bike. The only part that barely touches the car is the petal and I wrap that with a cloth. I dont plan on making long road trips with it, it will do for how much im going to ride.
Dont get me wrong. I love the look of a roof rack, just dont need it in this case !!

Thats understandable. My bikes are worth half as much as my car, I ride all the time, and don't want someone to want someone to be able to steal my bike off a trunk rack, so thats why I personally use a roof rack.
Like I said as long as you install a trunk rack and take the proper percautions so that the bike or rack doesn't scratch your car then they serve their purpose well.
