Default Opinion on wheels size selection on a DC2 Integra .... no flaming..

I'm having some ricer syndrome at the moment, and in need of some help and suggestions. i'm a fan of big wheels, and i think 17" looks perfect fit on the dc2 integra.

currently the car have 17x7 42offset, with 205/40-17 tires for daily. i know the tire will rub when i turn the wheel all the way, and i need to pick out a set of wheels / tires combination that will work on the track without any rubbing issue.

so here are the questions:
- if i run a set of of 17x7 43offset with 205/40-17 (tires are potenza s03) will it cure the rubbing issue?

- if not, 16x7 40offset with 205/45-16 (tires will be hankook r-s2) will it solve the problem?

- lastly, i know the 15x6.5 40offset with 205/50-15 will not have any problem, BUT i would be afraid that the car might risk scraping the front lip.

please share your knowledge and help me find a solution, thanks guys

if this is for the track you are better off with a 15 inch package.. what year is your dc???? if it was me that is what i would go with.. between the 15 and 16 inch package you are only loosing .19 in height by going to a 15.. i can't see why that would cause you to rub that much..now if you go to a 17 inch size then you gain .39 in height over the 15 inch package. hope that helps if not let me know..

thanks for the tip, i guess i'm just afraid that 15" w/ 205/50 will be somewhat low enough that i might be close from scrapping my chargespeed front lip.. u know... where i'm getting at...hehe

it's a 95 integra w/ jdm front end

None of these tire sizes should rub, ***IF*** your wheels have the proper offset. Note that there shouldn't be any differences, since all of them have approximately the same outer diameter:

205/40-17 - 23.46 inches
205/45-16 - 23.26 inches
205/50-15 - 23.07 inches
195/55-15 (stock size) - 23.44 inches

The difference in clearance in the wheel wells and in ride height is half the difference in diameter. And, to put things into perspective, the difference in diameter between the 205/40-17 and the 205/50-15 is less than the difference in diameter between a new tire and one that is worn down to the treadwear indicator bars and ready for replacement.
