Secondary intake runners, they're little butterlys that open and close like your throttle except that they're smaller than the intake so that they allow some air to pass when they're not triggered.

The ECU sends a signal at a specific RPM to allow more air flow through the secondary intake runners, usually above 5700 RPM or so, this allows for higher torque at lower RPMs by choking the air through the manifold.

If you have the stock intake manifold with the H series motor you're going to lose performance if you don't have it set up to actuate the IAB.

Def. switch to the h23 intake manifold. You should not have to switch any wiring on the stock 93 wiring harness. The only things you might have to wire up is the igntion coil depending on the year of your h23 and the knock sensor. Got any info on your year motor?
