My SRS light is on (Honda Civic 1996 DX 2Dr) What could be wrong?
My SRS has been on for over 2 months now, never really bothered to check what the problem could be.
Can anyone help me?
Where can I get this fixed? How much would it cost?
Can I do it myself?

Most of the common things are the seat belt buckle or the air bag. If its the buckle then you could get that fixed at any Honda dealer for free since the part of the srs components are under a lifetime warranty. And the models of 96-97 also have an extended warranty to 150,000 miles. So if ur cat was jacked up they would replace for free under warranty. Oh btw I work for Honda. So just go to ur local Honda dealer and see what is still covers. But I know that even checking the SRS light is under the lifetime warranty of the SRS, doesnt matter how many miles. But once more not all SRS components are covered by the warranty. Oh and the car colud not have been in an accident either for the SRS warranty to apply.

SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint Sytem. Sometimes the SRS control unit can be tripped by a over or under load in your electrical system (even by jump starting the vehicle) use the DIY a couple posts up to reset your srs control unit first. If that doesn't fix the problem then you can spen the 65-100 dollars it will take to diag the problem at your local Honda dealer.
